At Blue i, we work really hard to help keep our tenants safe and our landlords’ properties secure. So we were very concerned when a tenant recently forgot to lock one rear window, causing the property to be burgled. Just leaving one window unlocked led to burglars rifling through their possessions, the theft of over £1,500 worth of gifts and jewellery (including a collection of Pandora bracelets) and the loss of a laptop with four months of notes and essays that had not been backed up. The really disturbing thing about this incident was that the burglars were interrupted by the tenants and used a sofa to block a door so that they could escape.
