The University of Derby has been ranked in the Top 50 in The Guardian University Guide 2017 after climbing 25 places. The university has made the leap from 73rd to 48th place out of 119 institutions – the second biggest jump in the country – to achieve its highest ever ranking! There was a very interesting article in Bricks and Mortar in the Times recently about the different costs of buying property around the world based on the costs of flat in Monaco. The 2.02km2 principality hosted the F1 Grand Prix yesterday in driving rain, has a population of 37,800 and property prices are going ever upwards due to the lack of space. At the top end prices are £62,600/sq.m. just below those of Hong Kong of £75,530/sq.m. whilst a middle of the range flat would cost about the same as in Mayfair, £30,000/sq.m.
